ISO 56000/TC 279 Innovation Management Standards Working Groups Meeting

The City of Melbourne, Florida is the economic engine of Brevard County, capitalizing on high-tech industries, established relationships with the region’s leaders in education and research, like the Florida Institute of Technology, and its location on the Space Coast. Just over an hour east of Orlando, Florida, and famous attractions such as Disney World, Universal Studios, and Sea World, Florida’s Space Coast is home to the Kennedy Space Center, legendary Cocoa Beach, and the Brevard Zoo. The Space Coast has 72 miles of accessible ocean beaches; space-age attractions; America’s most diverse estuary; and the largest sea turtle nesting area in the country. The working group meetings will be held at the Hilton Melbourne Rialto Place. Conveniently located on the east coast of Florida, there are multiple options for international arrivals.

The working group meetings will be held at the Hilton Melbourne Rialto Place, conveniently located to Melbourne’s business districts, entertainment, and beaches. Just South of NASA Blvd, the venue is easily accessible from the Orlando-Melbourne International Airport with hotel shuttle service.

Note, rooms with 2 queen beds have a bathtub with a shower. Rooms with 1 king bed have only a shower. If you select a room on the executive floor, a continental breakfast and an evening cocktail hour are included in your rate.

1. Orlando Melbourne International Airport (MLB) – 0.5 miles (0.8 km) to venue
Orlando Melbourne International Airport is currently served by four commercial airlines. Legacy carriers Delta Air Lines and American Airlines offer daily,nonstop flights to their respective hubs in Atlanta and Charlotte and one-stop service to just about anywhere in the world. Elite Airways is also building routes from its Melbourne, Florida hub. Toronto-based Porter Airlines also provides premium service scheduled flights direct between Toronto’s Billy Bishop Airport (YTZ) and Orlando Melbourne International Airport.

Driving in Florida

Visitors to Florida who wish to drive while here are required to have in their immediate possession a valid driver license issued in his or her name from their country of residence.

If renting a car while visiting Florida, we suggest you check with the rental car company prior to your visit to see what they require. However, it’s our understanding that rental car companies have not changed their procedures or requirements for having a valid driver license from any state, U.S. territory or foreign country.
